Cherry Blossom's mission statement is simple:

We are committed to reducing stress for our clients by streamlining the planning process, staying proactive and responsive, focusing on the positive, and having fun

Where i have been The cities I've lived in, the events I've helped plan, what I choose to do with my free time -  it all creates a narrative that I'm proud of. Life isn't always sequins and rainbows, but there's always a bright side and that's the side I choose to focus on.

What i'm doing As Cherry Blossom grows, the scope of our events do too.  We might not take on double weddings anymore and I definitely have permanent watch tan line from VIT's Hullabaloo, but the way we serve our clients, wedding or corporate, is just the same.

what i hope to do There's definitely a wedding activity book in the works, more nerdy technology to invest in, and so. much. more. to learn! I hope our events continue to bring us closer to the nicest people with the biggest hearts - it's the #1 reason I'm in the business of event planning!

Event Highlights

The Happiest Celebration of them all (2015) This photo represents so much love. Jonathan's love for airplanes, the way Holly's happiness radiates from her pores, and the bond these two share. Jonathan was diagnosed with cancer in the months leading up to the wedding, and naturally the focus shifted from talks of linens and centerpieces to tearful conversations. The wedding represented not only their marriage, but their commitment to each other - it's one I'll never forget!

Quirky is the new black (2017) Joyce + John were Unapologetically themselves and I loved them even more for that. There were so many personal details woven into their wedding and the guests took notice. The phrase "OMG That's so joyce" was overheard multiple times! John was down for whatever she wanted, and their smiles were the best confirmation of a job well done.

A fellow-planner's bff (2013) Madeline lived in DC and planned her wedding from afar but it was as easy as cake considering she was also an event planner. We geeked out over floor plans drawn to scale, figured out out to squeeze in just a few more guests beyond capacity, and somehow she managed to pull it all off without ever getting worried. She and her husband (and son) are just the best and it's no surprise they're all as happy as they are!

No permit, No problem (2013) Gay Marriage wasn't quite legal in Virginia when Rachel + Vanessa got married, but we like to hope that's not why the city wouldn't give us a permit for their ceremony. Know what we did instead? Made everything portable so they could have their ceremony exactly where they wanted to in the most efficient way possible.

Ugly crying to the max (2015) When I tell you I ugly cried during their ceremony, I mean it. I was sobbing in the corner during their vows especially - it was just too sweet! Michelle + Shelly deserve every ounce of happiness life has to offer and I'm so thankful I was there to help them sort through all the moving parts! <3

The best Father/ Daughter dance ev-ver (2016) Jess + Andrew's wedding was so classically beautiful. They had great taste, tackled almost everything together, and had a fantastic wedding. I'll never forget when the music Screeched and the Father/ Daughter danced turned into a waltz of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game." A little something unexpected in the most elegant way possible!

Cemeteries, skulls, and a wedding (2015) Kristina is the type of cool that makes you unsure of yourself. Her sense of style belongs in a magazine and Jake, her husband, would be the guy cheering her on at the photo shoot. Their wedding was filled with beautiful details and it's also the reason I very rarely will pick up flowers anymore ;) Ask me to tell you that story sometime!

280 of the nicest guests we've ever met (2014) When I think back to some of the best weddings we've ever had it always goes back to the people. Michelle + Ahijah were incredibly kind as were their 280+ guests. Seriously, every single person we met at their wedding was amazing!  I cried when it was over because I knew I wouldn't have the opportunity to see them as often. #truestory
